The Problem Statement

According to a systematic literature review, final-year medical students lack the necessary skills to prescribe safely and efficiently.

Medical students do not get the opportunity to interact with patients on a 1:1 basis. As a result, they are unable to make their own decisions regarding patients.

Medical students may not have enough continuity in learning as they rotate through different clinical units, which can make it difficult for them to build upon what they have learned. Virtual patient simulations can provide students with a consistent and continuous learning experience, allowing them to build upon their knowledge and skills over time.

Instructor feedback is primarily subjective. Instructors might have limited bandwidth to provide feedback for every student. Virtual patient simulation by our platform can provide students with immediate feedback on their performance, allowing them to quickly identify and address any deficiencies.

Medical students may not have enough exposure to rare and uncommon medical cases during their clinical rotations, which can make them unprepared for these cases when they encounter them in real-life situations. Virtual patient simulation can provide students with exposure to a wide range of cases, including rare and uncommon ones, preparing them for real-life situations.

Between what is taught in textbooks and what students experience in clinical settings, there is a huge difference.

Our Story

Diagnostic mistakes are a significant source of patient morbidity, and ill-prepared and inexperienced medical students can contribute to the expense of care and expose patients to avoidable risks. This was the impetus for launching "Curans," a technology that allows medical students to practice on virtual patients.
